One of the country’s largest independent bookshops, with over 300,000 secondhand books in a former Georgian house. Three floors of books, including modern fiction, antiquarian books, music scores.
Specialist collections of Cumbrian and Scottish Topography, Natural History, Art, Fiction, Theology, History (especially Military History), and Railway books.
There are also thousands of books available to buy on their website.
As well as the books, which will keep you busy for a long time, there is a cafe and weekly events including author talks, quiz nights and open mic evenings.
